Preparing for Labour - What to Bring

Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh & good day to all mommies-to-be.

Quite a number of new mommies-to-be asked me on what to bring for labour...Well... here's the list and pls bear in mind, this list is meant for 1 night stay after a normal delivery (usually if normal delivery, we can be discharged if our baby had already pee & poop within 24 hrs) at a general hospital.

☆Mother's stuff:

1. Maternity pad - 1 pack of Madame from Pureen should be sufficient because normally heavy discharge of nifas occurs during the first 3-5 days of delivery. After that, normal maxi/night pads will do.
2. Breastpad - just in case there's leakage of milk.
3. Kain batik - 1 pc, to be used during discharge from hosp. During the stay in hospital, we can wear the hospital's clothes. (i personally prefer to bring skirt/kain bj kurung cause it's easier to be put on)
4. Long sleeve T - 1 pc, also to be used during discharge from hosp. (Long sleeve blouse with open front will also do)
5. Thick socks
6. Tudung - to be worn when visitors/doctors come
7. Nursing Bra
8. Panties - preferably loose ones/your maternity ones cause your stomache may still be bluging after delivery. It do takes time to shrink back to normal ya... hehehe.
10. Comb, hairclip, toiletries.
11 Towel
12. Sweater
13. The most important: your "red card" & I/C.**
14. Handphone
15. Girdle/bengkung will also be good as it'll ease you to move around.
16. Slippers to be used in the ward.
17. Others you think necessary

☆Baby's stuff:

1. Bb clothes - 2-3 pairs, to be worn in the ward n also during discharge. (Private hosp, 1 pair for discharge will do)
2. Mitten & booties - 2-3 pairs, to be worn in the ward n also during discharge
3. Towel/blanket for bedung
4. Diapers
5. Bb wipes
6. Honey and/or kurma for tahnik purposes.

** For admission to GH labor room, you'll need to prepare 1 pc of towel, 1 set of bb clothes & 1 pc of cloth napkin (use of disposable diapers or pampers are not allowed as they want to ensure that your baby is breastfeeding properly but tracking the number of wet napkins before discharge).

☆Food basket:

1. Thermos
2. Cup
3. Plate, bowl
4. Fork & spoon
5. 3 in 1 drinks - Oat/Horlicks/VicoBread/biscuits
6. A little bit of dishwasher liquid

That is all that i can recall...  for anything that i had missed out, feel free to top up ya!
